The Technology
Vivid Alloy™ is the first commercial service in the world to offer this level of full-colour, precision engraving — not using ink or enamel, but through a process called laser-fusion chromatic embedding.
This method:
- Uses ultra-fine-tuned laser energy to bond colour into the microstructure of the metal
- Is chemical-free, ultra-durable, and doesn’t rely on any applied surface layer
- Can produce photo-quality images and text that never scratch off or fade
This is not UV printing. It’s not anodizing or sublimation.

Our Story
From Obsession to Innovation
Vivid Alloy™ was born out of a single question:
Why can’t we make colour on metal permanent — truly permanent?
Founder Evan Connell had spent over 30 years working in network security, sustainable tech, and high-performance systems across 27 countries. But his lifelong interest in materials and design led him down a different path — toward metal, heat, optics, and colour theory.
After seeing countless metal products degrade due to faded paint, worn coatings, or short-lived prints, Evan began researching how colour could be embedded beneath the surface, not on top of it. What followed was years of trial and error, testing different alloys, wavelengths, surface tensions, and heat timings.
Eventually, a breakthrough.
A process that didn’t just mark metal — it infused it with colour.
A process so clean it left no residue, no chemicals, no consumables.
A process that had never been commercialised.
And so, Vivid Alloy™ was launched — right here in Australia — to bring the first-ever full-colour metal engraving service to the world.
