Vivid Alloy fuses full-spectrum colour, logos and scannable QR codes permanently into the grain of stainless steel, aluminium and titanium. No paint. No coatings. No annual replacement cycle. The tag you fit today is still readable when the asset is decommissioned.
Across a single mid-tier mine, asset identification fails on a six-to-eighteen-month cycle. The cost is rarely on a line item — it's hidden inside replacement labour, missed inspections, scrapped serviceable gear, and unbilled hours stacked across thousands of assets.
Industry-standard adhesive labels delaminate under diesel wash, blast cleaning and Pilbara UV. Replacement cycles run twice a year on exposed gear — slings, rigging, hoses, conveyor structure — and every replacement is unbilled overhead.
AS 4991 lifting equipment and AS/NZS 3788 pressure vessels demand permanent legibility. Stamping is permanent but monochrome, slow, and unscannable — locking critical assets out of digital asset registers and predictive-maintenance workflows.
When a paramedic, lifting inspector or NDT engineer arrives, the SWL plate is sometimes unreadable. The asset is out of service until certified — losing a shift, a day, or a week. The cost of one offline 240-ton truck dwarfs a decade of tagging.
The same fusion process tags a 240-tonne haul truck, a 12-tonne shackle, a CHPP pressure vessel and a port shiploader spreader. One process, one permanence, scaled across every asset class on the operation.
Permanent, scannable IDs for tray, prime mover and major sub-assemblies. Survives the wash bay, the tyre fitter, the diesel mechanic and the Pilbara sun. Integrates straight into fleet management platforms via QR or DataMatrix payload.
SWL plates that meet AS 4991 permanence and pass a scanner on the rigger's phone the first time, every time. End the cycle of replaced sticker tags on slings, shackles and spreader bars.
Process vessels, separators, autoclaves and CHPP gear that need permanent ID legible after a decade of operation. AS/NZS 3788 compliant; survives chemistry, heat and abrasive cleaning.
Ore wagons, locomotives and rail-bound containers shedding paint and stickers along the Hamersley or the Goonyella corridor. Permanent VIN, tare, registration and ownership data — scannable through grime, salt and a decade of operation.
Belt section IDs, drive units, gearboxes and idler frames — each one tagged once, scannable forever, mapped to the maintenance schedule from day one.
Salt spray and dust kill paint and labels at port. Vivid Alloy doesn't notice. Shiploader booms, stackers, reclaimers and the spreader bars that handle every tonne off the rail.
Switchgear, MCC cubicles, VSDs, transformers and field junction boxes — permanent ID with embedded QR linking straight to the digital twin or maintenance manual.
There's no ink. No film. No coating. Our laser-fusion process drives full-spectrum colour into the crystalline structure of the metal itself — the colour and the substrate become one material. To remove the mark, you have to remove the steel.
Marine-grade base. Resistant to chloride pitting, blast media, diesel, and the chemistry inside a CHPP. Aluminium and titanium also available where mass or alloy compatibility matter.
Full RGB fused beneath the surface. Logos, brand colour, photographic detail and gradients — not stamped, not printed. The colour is part of the grain structure of the metal.
Scannable down to 12mm square at sub-mm precision. Payload is yours — URL, SAP asset ID, IMOS, Ellipse, Pronto, your in-house system. Encoded at production from your CSV.
Salt spray (ASTM B117), sandblast, autoclave, weld spatter, diesel and solvent wash, UV cycling. Every sample we've stress-tested has outlasted the test rig.
Australian and international standards already require permanent legibility on the asset classes most miners care about. Vivid Alloy isn't asking you to take our word for it — the audit obligation already exists.
| Standard | What it requires | Vivid Alloy contribution |
|---|---|---|
| AS 4991 | Lifting equipment must carry permanent, legible identification including SWL and serial information. | Permanent fused ID with QR linked to digital inspection record. |
| AS/NZS 3788 | In-service pressure equipment must retain legible nameplate data across operating life. | Survives chemistry, heat, abrasive cleaning. Flush, in-grain finish. |
| ISO 9001 / 14001 | Traceability and environmental management across asset registers. | No solvents, inks or adhesives in production. Zero waste output. |
| ATEX / IECEx | Equipment in hazardous zones must carry permanent zone and certificate marking. | No coating, no flammable substrate. Compatible with Ex enclosures. |
| Internal ESG | Scope 3, circularity and supplier emissions reporting. | Australian-made. No solvent disposal. Traceable to end-of-life recycling. |
Across a mid-size mining operation, asset labels are quietly one of the largest unmanaged consumable streams on site — measured in tonnes of plastic, kilograms of adhesive, and hours of replacement labour annually. Permanent identification ends the cycle.
A single mid-tier operation cycles through thousands of adhesive-backed tags every year. Each one ends up in landfill or on a contaminated-waste manifest. Vivid Alloy ends the replacement cycle — fit once, scan for the life of the asset.
Painted, anodised and printed tagging methods all carry a chemistry footprint — VOCs, solvent disposal, inks classified as hazardous. Laser-fusion is dry, contactless and produces zero process waste.
When the haul truck or wagon is eventually decommissioned, its tag is still readable. The asset's record — manufacture, service history, alloy spec — survives intact into the recycling stream, enabling true circular material flow.
A single laser-fused tag at the start of service replaces 25+ rounds of production, freight and replacement labour over the asset's life. The carbon math compounds in your favour with every year of operation.
Most production runs ship inside two weeks from artwork sign-off. For mining asset-register projects we accept a CSV of your existing assets and produce QR-encoded plates against your serial scheme.
You send the asset list, artwork or brand assets. We confirm substrate (SS316 / Ti / Al), dimensions, finish, mount method and any colour calibration. CSV ingestion supported for asset-register work — your existing serial scheme stays intact.
For new clients we run a paid physical sample first. You hold it. You scratch it. You drag it through the wash bay. You hit it with the blast cabinet. Sign-off only happens after the sample survives your worst-case environment.
Same machine handles a single hero plate, three thousand sling tags or ten thousand QR-coded asset plates. Each tag carries its encoded payload — URL, DataMatrix or CSV-derived serial — fused into the metal at sub-mm precision.
Tagged, packed and shipped. For asset-register projects we hand back the indexed CSV with QR payloads ready to drop into SAP, Ellipse, Pronto or your CMMS. Optional pre-mount adhesive backing or weld-stud preparation.
One tag, fitted once. Or twenty-five, fitted twenty-five times. The economics don't survive the question.
Tell us the substrate, the asset class and the environment it has to survive. We'll come back inside one business day with a sample plan and indicative pricing for your operation.
